Hiking in Schenna and the surrounding area
The hiking area in the district of Schenna is more than 200 km. The area around Meran 2000/Hafling offers a further 300 km of well-signposted hiking trails at every altitude.
Five cable cars and two chair lifts make the climb easier. Hiking in Schenna in South Tyrol means getting to know variety: from simple walks, unhurried hikes, excursions to the mountain pastures and huts to tours of the high mountains and climbing mountain peaks.
Tappeinerweg in Merano»

This Höhenpromenade (translated as high promenade) is certainly one of the most beautiful in Europe. The path is very sunny and offers, at an average height of 380 m above sea level, fantastic views of the roofs of the town and into the whole of Burggrafenamt.
The walk is about four kilometres and leads from Gilfpromenade over the slopes of Küchelberg to Gratsch. In addition to our local plants, there is also lush Mediterranean vegetation, such as various types of palms and bamboos or cacti and even exotic plants such as a special Chinese palm.
There are several points of access to Tappeinerweg: via the Tiroler Steig behind the town parish church, in Galileistraße (valley stop of the Küchelberg chair lift), via Schlehdorfsteig in Verdistraße and from the Zenoburg, past the Pulverturm.
